Taco Bell Experiments with New Doritos Taco Shell

First they ask us to think outside the bun; now Taco Bell is rethinking the taco shell with a new one made entirely from dayglo-orange Doritos. Sounds like it’s crunch time for the fast-food Mexican chain.
Indeed, sales have been slumping at the Bell, Nation’s Restaurant News reports. In an effort to spice things up, the company is now testing the “Doritos Locos Taco” made from nacho-cheese-flavored Doritos at 115 stores in Ohio and California.
“We’re excited about the positive consumer response to Doritos Locos Tacos, which is currently in test markets in Bakersfield, Fresno and Toledo,” Rob Poetsch, a spokesman for Taco Bell, tells NRN. “It’s highly innovative because it combines two classic favorites that people love. When we know it’s perfect, we’ll bring it to market.”
Now, at first thought, the idea of a radioactive orange taco shell is a bit disturbing, but give it a sec to sink in. Delicious nacho-cheese chips, taco meat and, um, more cheese? Folks, this might just be guilty-pleasure-food nirvana.

Hi, how¡¯s it going? Just shared this post with a colleague, we had a good laugh.
My family loves these Doritos Taco, I wonder if we can find the Doritos shell at the store. Those shells make great Tacos
I dont think their menu is the problem with declining sales, I think it’s their value. Prices have gone up and serving sizes have gone down.
i think that is a really good marketing idea. If the cheese is on outside, that can b messy. Hope wet naps come with. Dont forget about COOL RANCH, I WANT ONE.
