Steak with Chipotle Orange SauceThinking of popping by your favorite steakhouse for a a steak dinner to go?  Fugeddaboutit! Whether you keep your grill fired up all year long, or prefer to stay warm and cozy in the kitchen and cook the meat under the broiler, a steak dinner is one of the easiest to prepare (about 15 minutes of cooking time). Plus, steak isn’t cheap, and restaurant prices will cost you double or triple what it will cost you to cook it at home. Try some of these steak recipes for a twist on the plain grilled version.

Flank steak is a good mid-range-priced cut. If you’re watching your fat intake, buy it lean. This recipe for Spice-Rubbed Flank Steak calls for cumin, garlic powder, thyme, cinnamon, and cayenne, a blend that gives the meat full flavor.

Steak with Roasted Garlic and Herbs: Rib-eye steaks are well marbled (with all that gorgeous fat that gives the meat flavor). Roasting them with garlic, basil, rosemary, and cracked black pepper results in a steakhouse-worthy entree you’ll want to serve up with some baked potatoes and a fresh green salad for the full experience.

Coffee-Crusted Steaks: How’s this for a way to use your coffee grounds? Combine them with brown sugar, molasses, adobo sauce, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and salt for a rich rub with a, dare we say, sexy undercurrent. Date Night food!
