Spicy Sloppy Joes: Dinner for $10

Don’t get us wrong: we like our sloppy joes sloppy — we just don’t think they have to be gloppy. What’s the difference, you ask? Well, here it is. These Spicy Sloppy Joes are everything we love about sloppy joes: meaty, hearty and oh-so-flavorful. You need but a small can of tomato sauce, a bit of ketchup, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of hot sauce to do the trick — no more. Cook the ground beef with chopped onion and green pepper, and — voila! — dinner is served.
Really, it doesn’t take that much more time than using a canned sloppy joe mix, but the results are far more satisfying. And it doesn’t have to cost much more, either. These Spicy Sloppy Joes yield 6 sandwiches at just $1.32 per sandwich.
