Easy Oven-Roasted Salmon

More than 50 percent of Americans make some sort of New Year’s resolution, and it’s no surprise that eating better and losing weight are at the top of many people’s list. Preparing quick and healthy recipes like Oven Roasted Salmon is a great way to keep that promise intact.
Salmon is one my favorite meals to make for dinner as it’s easy to prepare, cooks in no time, and is high in protein and Omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower the risk of heart disease. The possibilities for enjoying salmon are nearly endless too.
When work’s been particularly tough, or my at-home to-do list is especially long, I like to make Oven-Roasted Salmon, which takes about 5 minutes of prep time, and nearly the same amount of time to cook.
Simply rub a salmon filet with a drizzle of heart-healthy olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and roast for 5 minutes per 1/2-inch thickness (measured at the thickest part of the filet), or until it’s tender and flaky. Jazz it up with a sprinkling of fresh herbs such as dill or basil, or line the filets with fresh lemon slices before roasting.
I like to serve oven roasted salmon with wild-rice pilaf, or on a bed of fresh baby spinach sautéed in a bit more olive oil and freshly chopped garlic. Nutritious, delicious, and done in a flash!
