Our list of guilty-pleasure foods is quite prolific, but now there may be a new forerunner in the so-bad-it’s-so-good category of decadent delights. Are you ready for it? You might want to sit down.

World, meet the Pizzabon.

Yes, Cinnabon — with its oh-so-alluring aroma that can send a sea of mall shoppers lumbering to the food court — is testing a new bakery-café menu at Atlanta’s Cumberland Mall, and one of those items is a cinnamon-roll-shaped pile of dough, sauce, cheese and pepperoni.

We might as well just go ahead and physically attach the Pizzabon to our thighs.

Cinnabon’s new test kitchen will also be whipping up croissants, apple Danishes, breakfast sandwiches, cupcakes and iced coffee drinks, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“You’ll see little pieces in certain venues individually, but you won’t see our full menu anywhere but here,” Kat Cole, Cinnabon’s president, tells the newspaper.

Cinnabon purists may not be too keen on the idea of mixing up the menu, but Karen Bremer, executive director of the Georgia Restaurant Association, says it’s important for eateries to diversify.

“If consumers are making the trip to your establishment, you want them to find everything they want in one place,” she tells the Journal-Constitution. “You’ve got to innovate to satisfy the demands of old customers and to create some new ones.”

The Pizzabon certainly seems to qualify. As John Kessler, the newspaper’s restaurant critic, tweeted, “Just got a press release about Cinnabon’s new Pizzabon. Wanna hear more or just let that sit with ya for a spell?”

Oh, we wanna hear more. In fact, we wonder if we can find a last-minute flight to Atlanta Saturday, where, Kessler also tweets, there’ll be a free Pizzabon giveaway at the Cumberland Mall. We’re not sure we’d even feel guilty.
