Pizza Hut Hot Dog Stuffed Crust

Pizza Hut UK

We all know hot dogs are as American as baseball, Chevys, and apple pie, but it took the Brits to introduce us to hot dog–stuffed pizza crusts.

In case you didn’t quite catch that, let us repeat: Hot dog. Stuffed. Pizza crusts.

Yes, for those who find an ordinary doughy crust bland or a simple cheese-stuffed crust much too pedestrian, Pizza Hut UK offers a meaty pizza with “succulent hot dog sausage bursting from our famous stuffed crust, with a FREE Mustard Drizzle,” according to the company’s website.

Well, of course it comes with mustard. What sort of fool would dip a pizza-wrapped hot dog in anything else?

And, for those hungry for a little hot-dog pizza crust history, the Huffington Post tells us this dish has already gained popularity in Thailand and Japan. Guess people are weird all over the world.

Now that the word is—what’s the right verb here?—oozing out about Pizza Hut UK’s hot-dog concoction, the question is, Will it soon show up in the land of the free and home of the brave? Will it replace Krispy Kreme hamburgers at the ball park?

Food blog Delish reports reps from U.S. Pizza Hut have yet to respond on the possibility of the pie coming stateside, but, these days, it seems like if you can make it (and it‘s a fatty calorie bomb), they will come.

Us? We’ll stick with an all-American, plain ol’ pizza-free hot dog next time we head to the baseball diamond, free mustard drizzle or not.

With these stuffed-crust pizza recipes, make homemade pizza stuffed with hot dogs, cheese, or whatever you fancy.
