As our thoughts turn to spring, our thoughts on cooking turn to asparagus. Those long green stalks with the impossibly beautiful tips give us hope that winter is almost over, and days of salads eaten al fresco are just around the corner. Well, we can dream, can’t we?
This Penne and Creamy Asparagus is an easy pasta recipe, a great weekday meal that combines that touch of spring with just the right amount of cozy comfort food. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are added to the mix of pasta tossed in a buttery, creamy, Parmesan cheese sauce, which makes it a protein-rich one-dish dinner. And the penne is topped with toasted walnuts to provide smooth flavor and a nice bit of crunch.
At 24 minutes of prep and cooking, this creamy penne with chicken and asparagus will be ready almost before you can set the table.
And if that’s not enough to convince you, how about a few nutrition facts about asparagus: It has a high folic-acid content, as well as being rich in potassium, fiber, and vitamins B6, A, and C. So what’s a little cream sauce on a food that’s this good for you?

They are saying that the food content is good for you and they elude to that. Also, if you don’t want to use the heavy cream, then don’t. I’m going to try a healthy version of it and substitute for the cream, but I’m not going to remove them from my Facebook……geez!
way to be sensible. I can’t imagine getting that upset over a few items in a recipe.
I would never try a recipe with heavy cream. Try for a healthier alternative! Really every restaurant relies on these rich ingredients, butter, cream and salt. Then to claim it is good for you!! Really. How do I get this off my facebook?
