Sausage and Broccoli with Pasta: 30 Minute Meal

Sometimes the idea of a quick dinner sounds unsatisfying, as if you were going to sacrifice not just taste but also that specific fill-me-up quality that makes a meal so satisfying. Well, you won’t have to worry about that with this sausage and broccoli with pasta recipe. It’s as tasty and filling as it is easy to get onto the table.
Sausage gives the dish its savory stamina so that nobody leaves the table hungry. And yet there’s not so much of it as to overwhelm. It’s the Italian way with food—just a little of the meat or the rich sauce to provide flavor.
The pasta provides the lift from carbs. By the way, feel free to use any kind that’s a favorite. But keep in mind that rotini (a.k.a. fusili) is recommended in this recipe for a reason; all those little cracks and crevices in the “corkscrews” catch the bits and pieces of broccoli and sausage, for a tasty bite with each forkful.
Finally, you can use tiny florets of fresh broccoli if you wish. But we also find that a bag of frozen chopped broccoli works just as well. And that’s makes the whole dish just a tiny bit easier, too.

Though I think I can come up with a better sauce than using cream of broccoli soup. A little cream, maybe some white wine and parm cheese, less salty and a much tastier alternative.
I’m adding this to next week’s menu. It sounds delish plus it’s something I can make fast after work one night.
