3 Things to Make With…Orange Juice Concentrate

Orange juice concentrate. It’s not very exciting — heck, even the name sounds boring (and strangely industrial … couldn’t they think of something better?)

But what is exciting about this staple of freezers everywhere? All the crazy fun things you can do with it come summer. Your kids may simply shrug off their morning glass of oj, but they’re unlikely to be indifferent to a creamy, frosty drink or cool homemade creamsicles. You can even use it as the base for an eminently easy sorbet that only takes 10 minutes to make. The oj works wonders with the flavors of the berries.

So concentrate (ha!) on having some fun this summer. As for us, we’ll be sipping orange freezes all August long.

This frosty combo of milk and oj is a real summer treat. We love the tasty addition of the frozen orange slices.

2. Orange Creamsicles

Mmmm … these homemade creamsicles are dreamsicles. They make us feel like we’ve got wet grass stuck to our feet from running through the sprinklers all over again.

3. Easy-Freezy Sorbet

Don’t spend big bucks on fancy sorbets. With a value-sized bag of frozen berries and some orange juice concentrate, you can be enjoying your own easy berry sorbet all summer long!
