Lemon-and-Herb-Rubbed Pork Chops: Dinner for $10

cheap dinner recipesWe love easy dinners that turn out as good — or even better — than what you’d get at a nice restaurant (tablecloths, waitstaff, wine list, etc.). Even better, we love easy dinners that cost a bare fraction of what you’d pay at said restaurants.

These rubbed pork chops are a perfect example — 4 delicious servings at just $2.23 per serving! A simple rub, spiked with lemon zest, rosemary and sage (feel free to use fresh if you have it), is massaged into the thick-cut chops, which then cook slowly on the grill. That slower cooking is key to letting the rub work its magic and to yield moist, flavorful meat. You can certainly use thinner chops; just watch them to make sure they don’t overcook.

And since this recipe involves meat, a grill and a rub, you just might be able to convince your guy to cook the whole thing for you, making you feel like you’ve gone out for dinner after all.
