Quick and Easy Recipes Kids Will Love

Quick Kids RecipesKids are creatures of habit. Until they’re not. It can be hair-tearingly frustrating to serve up something they loved yesterday — like pizza or burgers — only to have them turn their noses up, literally, and pitch their flatware across the kitchen. But we’ve got some quick and easy recipes kids are sure to love.

Oh, and don’t give me that “when I was a child, I ate what was put in front of me. These kids today.” business. I don’t believe you. Or, if that is true, then you were weird. The more I see kids close-up, the more I get that these sudden preference-changes can be about more than bratty behavior: They can mean that developing taste buds have suddenly gotten more sensitive, as happens, typically, between 12 and 15 months. They can mean that a particular child’s mouth is sensitive to certain textures that, in their newness, feel unbearably strange. Or they can mean a kid is working through some control issues, and maybe going all Great Santini on him will only create more problems without solving any eating issues.

Anyway, the point is: Even if your kid is a perfect eating angel, you might want to mix things up a bit, or even create homemade versions of frozen faves. (Amy’s frozen mac and cheese, anyone?) So here are some adorable, easy ideas you can spring on them.
