Have iPads killed the recipe card? Maybe not entirely, but they’re certainly on a forward march. And for good reason—being able to quickly pull up pretty much any recipe with a couple keystrokes is a definite time saver. But all it takes is one kitchen plunder to really put a cook—and her gadgets— in a pickle.
The Associated Press reports innovators are on the case, however, offering covers to keep your tablets clean from any food interference. Go ahead, spill the beans.
From Clever Wraps (clear, single-use plastic covers) to the Chef Sleeve (a recyclable clear plastic bag) to the Antibacterial Screen Guard (just like it sounds, it’s supposed to keep germs at bay), these items are meant protect your pricey gadgetry and keep you from having to stop every step to wipe or wash your hands before you check your iPad for the next ingredient, according to the news service.
Of course, iPad covers don’t grow on trees, even delicious fruity ones. Clever Wraps are $15 for a set of three, the Chef Sleeve is $20 for a 25 pack and the single sheet Screen Guard from Fuse is $30.
Call me bananas, but a box of Ziploc storage bags is sounding pretty good about now. Plus, think of all those new food apps you’ll be able to buy with the money you’ve saved.
Got protection for your recipe device? Cook these fried dishes without fear!
