Cider GravyTurkey? Check. Mashed potatoes? Check Gravy? Eek! Even the bravest cooks among us can hesitate when it comes to making gravy. It seems there are just so many things that can go wrong. We’re talkin’ to you, lumps!

But fear not. Satin-smooth home-style turkey gravy can be yours. Judith Jones at Recipe.com shows you how in this video. We’ve taken Judith’s step-by-step instructions and lay them out for you here:

• You’ll need: Pan drippings from your roast turkey, a quarter-cup of flour, and either chicken broth or water.

• Skim the fat off your pan drippings and put the drippings into a saucepan. Then sprinkle in flour, a bit at a time, and stir. (For a thicker gravy, add more flour.)

• Add the chicken or turkey broth, or water, to the saucepan and stir over medium heat until it’s thick and bubbly. (There are as many ways to make gravies as there are cooks. Many cooks prefer to make a slurry of the flour and broth (or water) before adding it to the pan drippings. This tends to cut down on lumps.)

The result? Two cups of silky, rich gravy to pour over your turkey, spuds, and all the trimmings.
