Summer started sizzling last weekend for much of the country … good thing your June sale forecast includes lots of summer items.

It’s national dairy month, so expect to see sales and combo promotions on all dairy products and eggs. I’m already seeing great deals on ice cream and whipped toppings — the perfect companions for your Juneteenth jelly cake or strawberry pie.

If you used up all the grilling supplies you stocked up on for Memorial Day weekend, don’t worry! They’ll be cycling back into sales at the end of the month for Fourth of July celebrations. Grill items, condiments, charcoal, chips and dips will all be on sale.

Summer produce will be in full swing by the end of the month, so stores should have great prices on strawberries, peaches, plums, melons, corn, and in some parts of the country, tomatoes.

Finally, this year’s flea/tick season is supposed to be brutal, due to the mild winter. I used to only be able to find my dog’s flea and tick prevention remedy at the vet; now, I’m seeing it in grocery stores with coupons available. My vet is staying competitive by offering free additional applications with each purchase. These remedies are pricey, so it’s worth it to compare and find the best savings.
