How to Coupon: July Deals

All year long, there are obscure food-related observances: Frozen Foods Month! National Donut Day! Peanut Butter Lovers Day! Even though you or I may not always aware of these events, grocers are, and they plan sales and promotions around them.
July celebrates one of my favorite things: ice cream! Look for sales all month long in honor of National Ice Cream month! I have lots of coupons in my stash for both regular ice cream and novelties, so I’m looking forward to stocking up on frozen treats for the hot summer days ahead (because, after all, they freeze well).
Barbecue supplies will continue to be on sale, for the Fourth of July and beyond. Look for opportunities to stock up on condiments, chips, dips, and grill items.
My kids just got out of school last week(!!), but back-to-school sales will be starting mid-month. Even at your grocery store, expect to see lots of non-food school items. This is a great time to combine coupons with sales and snag cheap essentials to donate to your kids’ classrooms. Crayons, pencils, hand soaps, sanitizers, and tissue are all things classrooms constantly need.
Finally, look for deals on midsummer seasonal produce: pears, blueberries, grapes, nectarines, plums, melons, summer squash, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, early potatoes, and tomatoes.
