Football. Besides turkey, it’s what men think about when you mention Thanksgiving. My husband is no exception. I needed some inspiration this week, so I asked him what he thought I should make in relation to Thanksgiving. He told me either a football or a football helmet. Why didn’t I think of that? Oh yeah, because I’m a woman with three daughters — football isn’t even on my radar! I scoured through pictures of helmets and came up with this snacky replica. So, in honor of my husband and all of you Thanksgiving football families out there, this one’s for you!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 sandwich (your favorite)
- 1 black olive
- 1 string cheese
To make Football Helmet:
Make your favorite sandwich (PB&J worked well for this one). Take a drinking glass, or cookie cutter, and cut a circle out of your sandwich. Cut the shape of the helmet by hand. Use an olive slice for the ear hole. Cut chunks of string cheese to make the face mask (yeah, I had to ask my husband what this part of the helmet was called!)
Enjoy watching the Thanksgiving Day game!
Try these other Thanksgiving snacks — they’re perfect for watching the game, but won’t fill you up before the big meal!
