Basil Rouille

Rouille is a Provencal condiment that is generally used to stir into fish soups and stews. This Basil Rouille is a great spread on bread. Watch out for the garlic!

Ingredients

1 cupsnipped fresh sweet basilsee savings

1 smalltomato, seeded and choppedsee savings

1/3 cupfine dry bread crumbssee savings

4 largecloves garlic, mincedsee savings

1 or 2fresh small serrano or jalapeno chile peppers, seeded and diced*see savings

1 teaspoonsea salt or saltsee savings

Directions
1.
In a medium bowl combine basil, tomato, bread crumbs, garlic, chile peppers, and salt; mix well. Gradually stir in olive oil; mix well. Cover and chill. To serve, bring to room temperature and stir before serving. Makes 1-1/2 cups.
