Baked Apples

  • 6 small tart baking apples
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup Sugar In The Raw®, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped raisins
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Wash and core apples, leaving a bit of the core in the bottom to act as a plug. Place apples in a small baking dish. Blend 3 tablespoons Sugar In The Raw with the butter and cinnamon. Fill each apple with the mixture. Top with chopped raisins and walnuts. Sprinkle remaining Sugar In The Raw over the apples. Pour 3/4 cup water in baking dish.
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes or until apples are fork-tender. Approximately 10 minutes before apples are done, remove foil and baste apples with pan juices. Return to oven to finish baking.
