Bacon-Wrapped Artichoke Bites with a Basil Mayo

Ingredients

1 poundSmithfield bacon (do not use thick sliced)see savings

-
4 14-ounce cansartichoke hearts, drained and cut in halfsee savings

-
Decorative toothpickssee savings

-
1 cupmayonnaisesee savings

-
1 tablespoonfresh basil, choppedsee savings

-
Juice of 1 lemonsee savings

-
4 dasheshot saucesee savings

-
Salt and pepper to tastesee savings

Directions
1.
Preheat the broiler. Line two baking sheets with foil. Cut the bacon slices in half and place on one of the lined baking sheet. Broil for 3 minutes.

Remove the bacon from the oven and allow to cool. When cool enough to handle, wrap each artichoke half in a piece of bacon with the broiled side touching the artichoke. Place wrapped artichokes on the second lined baking sheet and broil for 4 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, basil, lemon juice, hot sauce, salt and pepper. Secure bacon and artichoke together with a decorative toothpick and serve basil mayo alongside for dipping.
Serving Suggestions
For game day, appetizers can be reheated on the grill until bacon is brown and crisp.
