Orange Butter
  • 1/2  cup  butter, softenedOn Sale
  • 3  tablespoons  orange marmaladeOn Sale

Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine yeast, warm water, and 1 tablespoon sugar in a 1-cup liquid measuring cup; let stand 5 minutes.

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.

Combine yeast mixture and buttermilk; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead for 1 minute.

Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch round cutter and place on ungreased baking sheets; cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees), free from drafts, for 45 minutes, or until doubled in bulk. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with Orange Butter.
7.
May be prepared ahead and frozen. Reheat in oven.

Orange Butter
Combine all ingredients; stir well.
